K2 Day 1
I arrived today by a small puddle jumper, Its very cold yet the excitement is all around me. I met up with the other guys going with me on my trek up k2. Kevin who is a english teacher from fort collins, and the other "civilian" Angela from Canada.
After meeting everyone at our first base camp at the foot of the mountain we started to pack up our gear, and exchange previous climb stories. Angela has done all the big climbs on the rockies, as well as Kevin. While I have only tackled a handfull of the rockies, I have extensive skills with rock climbing and icey weather.
Tomorrow will be our first day going up, the trek leaders will be arriving shortley so ill have to cut this post short for today. Ill be using my fancy palm computer equipted with a satilite uplink to post from the base camps on the way. However im sure that my battery will run out, so I will also keep a paper journal to later post when I return off the mountain.
today, sleep, tomorrow k2
